Gum Creek Station is nestled in the heart of SA’s magnificent Flinders Ranges. It is located 480kms north of Adelaide and approximately 45 km north of Wilpena Pound on the sealed road to Blinman – and on the northern boundary of the Flinders Ranges National Park. The Lodge is tucked into a ridge top near the homestead and overlooks a valley of river red gums and native pines.
Gum Creek Lodge is our flagship quality accommodation product and offers an intimate experience in the Flinders Ranges. Offering high quality accommodation, there are main 4 rooms (all with ensuites) for groups up to 8 (plus a guide). The Lodge is set on a ridge top and immersed in the unique Flinders Ranges landscape – a perfect place to just relax and marvel at the changing moods and unfolding light of the ranges. Guests can also enjoy active and exclusive use of the station’s tracks, trails and special places, with a range of 4WD, mountain biking and bushwalking options to choose from. Guided station tours also offer scenic and geological wonders, creek bed lunches and ridge top sunset drinks. Guests at Gum Creek Lodge are immersed in the scenic grandeur of the ranges and enjoy exclusive access to almost 200 km² of undisturbed country within the station’s boundaries. Experience bushwalking, 4WD tours along ridgetop tracks, or mountain bike riding along the spectacular and private mountain bike trails. You can also experience the breathtaking night sky, sit back over a long lunch around a camp fire under towering red gums, or just relax on your own personal deck at the Lodge.
The Lodge exhibits striking architecture, utilising glass, timber, corrugated iron and local stone. It has four ensuite bedrooms which can be either king-size or twin share format and with an additional bunk room and separate bathroom, can sleep a maximum of ten. There is also a large fully equipped kitchen, dining and lounge area, with front deck and a rear courtyard which features an open fire place, wood fired pizza oven and drinks niche. Rooms are air-conditioned and have gas space heating. The Lodge is powered by the homestead solar/wind power system and fully utilizes rainwater.
Gum Creek Station also offers the Shearer’s Quarters accommodation for groups up to 18 and Rose Cottage for up to 4 persons. All fully self-contained with many catering options also available.
