Holowiliena Station

Our family has been welcoming guests to Holowiliena Station since 1852. The station is easily accessed from Cradock, Hawker or Yunta, making it a perfect first stop when travelling to the Flinders Ranges from Broken Hill.

The Cottage is renovated worker’s quarters, perfect for couples wanting to get away from it all. Features a queen antique four-poster bed, open fireplace, modern bathroom and basic kitchen facilities. Breakfast supplied.

The Shearer’s Quarters is best suited to large groups, sleeping up to 14 people. The recently updated kitchen and bathrooms are designed for a fun group getaway. 6 bedrooms with single beds, BYO linen. The kitchen is well serviced with cooking equipment and the original wood stove, modern large gas stove and two fridges. Barbecues, fire pit, a million stars… most groups come time and time again!

Campsites at Holowiliena have been selected to ensure your privacy, at some of the most beautiful sites on the station. This is good old-fashioned bush camping with no facilities or services.

Visitors often find the Holowiliena Station History Tour is the highlight of their stay. We highly recommend joining us for smoko and a walking tour of the historic buildings, where family members will share the history of Holowiliena with you. This is a special opportunity to learn about station life in years gone by, and today. Lucky guests might even find The Outback Blacksmith at work in the blacksmith’s shop.

Two self-drive tracks give guests access to the property and magnificent views of the surrounding area. Photographers, bushwalkers, bird watchers and cyclists will find lots to see and do!
